These Terms govern your use of Caught Up (the "Game"), a browser-based party game available at app.caughtupgame.com and operated by Caught Up ("we," "us"). By opening the app or purchasing access, you agree to these Terms.
The Game
Caught Up is a text-message-style party game played by 2–5 people, each on their own phone, in a web browser. It installs to your home screen like an app, but there is nothing to download from an app store, and there is no offline or physical version.
Purchases
Full app access — the right to host games — is a one-time purchase of $15. Expansion packs are $4 each and require app access first. Joining a game someone else is hosting, via an invite link, is always free and requires no purchase.
Purchases are tied to the email address you use at checkout, not to a specific device — you can restore your purchase on a new phone by logging in with that email.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
No accounts, no passwords
Caught Up doesn't use traditional accounts or passwords. Access is granted via a signed token stored on your device, or restored by emailing you a one-time 6-digit code. Keep access to your email — it's how your purchase is recovered.
Age requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use Caught Up. The Core Set and Family Function pack are written for general audiences. Girls Night, Guys Night, and Grown & Messy are labeled 21+ and contain mature themes and language; do not enable them, or the optional "It's Lit" drinking-game mode, unless every player present is of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction. We don't serve, sell, or provide alcohol — "It's Lit" is a rule set, nothing more — and we don't encourage excessive or underage drinking. Drink responsibly and legally, or skip that mode entirely.
Content generated during play
Replies from the characters you're texting in-game are generated live using a third-party AI language model, based on the cards your group plays. This content is created dynamically for entertainment purposes — it can be unpredictable, and won't always be accurate, in character, or to your taste. It is not real correspondence from a real person, and nothing said in-game reflects our views or is fact-checked.
Your content
If you upload a profile photo or choose a display name, you keep the rights to it, and you're granting us a limited license to show it to the other players in your game session. Don't upload a photo of someone else without their permission, and don't use a name or image that's illegal, impersonating, or harassing. We can remove content or suspend access that violates this.
Acceptable use
Play fair. Don't attempt to circumvent purchase gating, automate or script gameplay, overload our servers, or use the Game to harass real people. We may suspend access for violations of these Terms.
No warranty
The Game is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Game is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the Game changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
